Dr. Freeman was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Auburn University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then completed a three-year Pediatric Residency program at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. In the fall of 1999, Dr. Freeman joined Dothan Pediatric Clinic where she has served as the Reach Out and Read Director since 2003. Currently, she is one of nine physicians who are Shareholders of the practice.
Dr. Freeman is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Alabama Academy of Pediatrics and has previously served as the organization’s Area 5 Representative. She also holds membership in the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and Houston County Medical Society. Dr. Freeman has served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee for Alabama Medicaid.
