Dr. Tamburin was born in Passaic, New Jersey. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Tulane University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Tamburin earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in June, 1999. He then completed a three-year Pediatric Residency program at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham where he was recognized for excellence in clinical performance. In the summer of 2002, Dr. Tamburin joined Dothan Pediatric Clinic. Currently, he is one of nine physicians who are Shareholders of the practice.
Dr. Tamburin is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. As a member of the Alabama Academy of Pediatrics, he served as the organization’s District Representative (2005-2009) and is the current State Legislative Chair (since 2009). He is also a member of the American Medical Association, Medical Association of the State of Alabama and Houston County Medical Society. Dr. Tamburin enjoys baseball, exercising, and traveling with his wife, Dr. Laura Tamburin, and their children: Andrew, Christopher and Meghan.
